Owl Be There Soars to Success at 2024 Annual Franchise Conference in Arlington, VA

Owl Be There hosted its 2024 Annual Franchise Conference, “Soaring to Success,” in Arlington, VA, from October 18-20. The event brought together our senior placement franchisees, corporate leaders, and industry experts for three days of inspiration, education, and connection—all designed to empower and support the success of Owl Be There franchise owners as they guide families through senior care decisions.

Day 1: A Warm Welcome

The conference kicked off with a welcome gathering at Samuel Beckett’s Irish Gastro Pub, where attendees connected (or re-connected!) over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in a relaxed setting. This gathering set the stage for a weekend of camaraderie, networking, and shared purpose.

Day 2: Inspiring Sessions and Team Building

Saturday began with an opening address from President Laura Greenwood, who shared her vision and purpose for the franchise’s future. Throughout the morning, franchisees participated in sessions led by Owl Be There CEO David Greenwood and several corporate team members, covering topics essential to building strong connections with clients, enhancing communication and education, and creating productive relationships with senior industry partners.

A highlight of the day was the Growth Workshop, focusing on setting S.M.A.R.T. goals and developing a strategic roadmap for franchise growth. Facilitated by Laura Greenwood and growth expert Indi Nandhra, this session empowered franchisees with actionable plans to achieve their business and financial objectives.

The afternoon included a unique networking workshop, “Show Up! Be Up! Follow Up to Blow Up!,” led by Toni Harris Taylor, which equipped franchisees with valuable strategies to expand their networks. The day culminated with a team-building activity at the National Portrait Gallery, where franchisees enjoyed time together while exploring one of Washington, D.C.’s cultural landmarks.

Afterward, attendees gathered at Clyde’s at Gallery Place in D.C. for an Appreciation and Awards Dinner. Here, franchisees were recognized for their dedication and achievements, with Washington, D.C. area industry professionals leading a roundtable discussion on collaborative support for families.

Day 3: Leadership and Growth!

The final day of the conference began with a session focused on fostering leadership skills, including a powerful presentation by Yanick Hicks on how to be a “R.E.A.L. Success”, as well as a team-building leadership assessment game.

As the conference drew to a close, franchisees explored “The Franchise Mindset” with Indi Nandhra. Here, they contemplated the values and mindset necessary to build a sustainable, impactful business. David and Laura Greenwood closed out the event with final remarks, reinforcing Owl Be There’s commitment to franchisee success and a shared mission to provide compassionate, wise care guidance.
