Franchisee Spotlight: Meet New Franchise Owner Peter Doig

The team at Owl Be There® welcomes our newest franchise owner, Peter Doig of Golden, Colorado! Peter’s territory, Owl Be There of 5280 West, is a “Jumbo” Owl Be There territory and encompasses a large portion of the Denver metropolitan area. Peter is also Owl Be There’s fourth Founders Circle advisory council member and a welcome addition to our growing team of senior living advisors.

Owl Be There Franchise Owner of 5280 West, Peter Doig.

Peter has a rich history of entrepreneurship, networking, and relationship building, as well as a personal mission to improve the lives of others. He is a natural fit with Owl Be There’s dual mission of improving the lives of seniors and empowering entrepreneurs to make a great living while giving back to their communities

I have a varied and extensive background in science, sales, and healthcare. I have worked for myself and know how to run a business from the ground up, but I also have experience with some of the largest corporations in the world.”

Peter Doig, Owl Be There Franchise Owner of 5280 West

Peter grew up in the Denver area. He and his wife, Tracy, are proud parents of three thriving young adult children with distinct personalities, interests, and career paths. Like many of our Owl Be There owners, Peter and Tracy are recent empty nesters, so Peter was eager to put his focus and talent toward new adventures.

I wanted to put my energies into a business that is recession resistant and that I could grow over time. I also wanted something with well-established systems in place and excellent overall support; I don’t want to reinvent the wheel and be in business by myself.”

There were several aspects of Owl Be There’s franchise opportunity that Peter found attractive. Among them were personalized training and mentoring, a simple owner-operator structure, and a focus on a stable and growing market

I like the idea that Owl Be There coaches and trains new owners on networking tactics and strategies for connecting with local referral partners. It is also a plus that the business can be effectively operated with minimal or no employees. The Denver market is ripe for Owl Be There’s senior-focused services, so it is a good time to start this type of senior placement business.”

And how does Peter feel about his onboarding and training after just a few weeks with Owl Be There’s an executive team?

Training with the Owl Be There leadership team versus trying to learn all of this on my own has cut at least a year off the process for me. They are helping me get set up in my market, bringing me up to speed on care options, and showing me how to get contracts and find ideal clients. I will be placing seniors and helping families much sooner than I expected.”

Peter and Tracy enjoy hiking the trails near Golden, urban living, and entertaining friends and family in their newly renovated historic home.

Congratulations, Peter! We’re thrilled you chose to partner with Owl Be There!
