New owner Staci Anderson (right), pictured here with husband Kirk Anderson and founders David and Laura Greenwood, recently joined the Owl Be There franchise family. Staci enjoyed her week of in-person initial training at the Tysons Corner, VA training center.

We recently asked Staci a few questions about her journey. We wanted to get to know her better and understand how she made her decision to join the Owl Be There family. Below, in her own words, is Staci’s story.

How did the idea of serving the senior population as a Senior Living Advisor and business owner resonate for you and align with your background and goals?

“From a healthcare standpoint, I have been a responsible advocate with intimate knowledge of the healthcare industry from a patient and caregiver perspective. This has come through extensive involvement with my daughter with special needs and through helping both my parents and a daughter who have since passed away. I am very familiar with the roller coaster that unexpected health challenges create.”

What attracted you to the Owl Be There franchise opportunity specifically?

“I wanted the flexibility of a home-based business and something with a meaningful purpose. I was also looking for a business that would leverage my background and talents. Owl Be There’s focus on ethics and quality first, and the honesty and integrity of the company culture, were also very attractive. Having a heart for seniors and doing the right thing are key criteria for them, and that rang true for me and what I was looking for.”

Was Owl Be There’s discovery process helpful to you in making your decision?

“Honestly, the process just confirmed my initial impressions. I got to see firsthand that they practice what they preach. The founders truly care and actually do the right thing because it is the right thing, and their integrity shines. It was great to talk to each of the franchisees and learn from them as well.”

Did the onboarding and initial training process with Owl Be There meet your expectations?

“It was amazing. This wasn’t just classroom theory. I got to actually experience a slice of real business interactions – both challenges and successes – in a very authentic way. The training wasn’t too high level or sugar coated. They even shared past business mistakes and hard-won lessons so I would know how to avoid making those same mistakes.”

In your opinion, what type of person would be an ideal candidate for Owl Be There business ownership?

“Someone who is willing to invest in making a difference in their community has strong ethics, and a desire to provide the gold standard of advice. Seniors everywhere need honest, caring help. Owning an Owl Be There business is a great way to provide that help in a knowledgeable and meaningful way.”

Staci and her husband Kirk have lived in Arizona for the past 30 years, and currently reside in Gilbert. They are the proud parents of ten children, ages 13 to 29. As a family, the Andersons enjoy playing games and building memories. They have spent the last few years traveling throughout the West and enjoying America’s many national parks – including a recent trip in their home state to the Grand Canyon.
